A man arrested at Manchester Airport after a teenager was stabbed in the city centre has been charged with attempted murder.
Bandar Alzahar, 21, also faces a charge of possessing a bladed article in public after the attack on Church Street in the Northern Quarter on Friday 31 July.
The 19-year-old victim remains in hospital in a stable condition with what Greater Manchester Police described as “life-threatening injuries”.
Alzahar, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
GMP said he had been arrested at the airport on Friday within three hours of the stabbing, which took place shortly before 12:50 BST.
The force said detectives are still urging any witnesses who have yet to come forward or anyone who may have CCTV, mobile phone or dashcam footage to get in touch.
