Reform UK has taken aim at Jeremy Clarkson’s daughter, Emily Clarkson, by featuring one of her videos in a new promotional campaign defending the party against what it described as “fake news”.

The party shared the video on Instagram alongside the caption: “Don’t believe the fake news about Reform UK. We are the party of meritocracy.”

The clip begins with Ms Clarkson telling her followers: “I have not got enough air in my lungs to explain all the ways in which Reform UK threaten the safety of women and girls…” before cutting away to a woman speaking on behalf of the party.

“You may have seen some videos like this online. And I’m here to tell you why they’re wrong,” the woman says before setting out reasons why she believes Ms Clarkson’s criticism of the party is incorrect.

The author and campaigner was quick to respond underneath the post, accusing Reform UK of omitting the main substance of her argument.

She commented: “kk but if you’d let my video roll for a little longer you’d have seen that my main concerns were the voting records of your members, and the criminal records of your councillors so looking forward to pt2 and a response on that x.”

Ms Clarkson has been an outspoken critic of Reform UK in recent years, frequently using her social media platforms to campaign against the party and its policies.

She has previously argued that Reform MPs would reduce women’s rights and has publicly backed the Green Party.

Her political stance contrasts with comments previously made by her father, broadcaster Jeremy Clarkson, who has spoken about Reform UK’s growing support among British farmers.

Ahead of the latest series of Clarkson’s Farm, the television presenter said he believed there was “not a farmer alive who’s Labour any more” and suggested many younger farmers were backing Nigel Farage’s party.

The latest exchange comes as Reform UK has increasingly challenged criticism from high-profile public figures online, arguing that it is frequently misrepresented by celebrities and parts of the media.

GB News has approached Emily Clarkson for comment.
