She said the children “were screaming in fear”.

Olivia went on: “There is nothing worse than watching your children believe they are in danger.

“No one should have to experience this.

“No family should be left frightened in their own car because of another person’s actions.

“The incident has been reported to the police.”

A spokeswoman for Cheshire Police said: “During the altercation, a man had got out of his car to remonstrate with the other driver and ripped off the handle of the driver’s side door.

“The man then left the scene. Inquiries are continuing.”

A spokesperson for Instant Loos and Event Hire said: “The behaviour in this video falls way below the standards of professionalism and respect that we expect from someone representing our business.

“We take matters of road safety, professionalism and public conduct very seriously, and we will not tolerate behaviour that puts others at risk.”

The firm said the driver would no longer work for them.
