Wigan Warriors half-back Harry Smith has signed a four-year contract extension to remain with the Super League club until the end of the 2030 season.

The 26-year-old started in their Challenge Cup final victory over Hull KR at Wembley last month, the third time he has won the competition with Wigan.

Smith was also part of their quadruple-winning 2024 squad and has won the Super League Grand Final on two occasions in his senior career.

“Being at Wigan since 2014, the club means a lot to me – as well as the lads and the coaching staff,” he said., external

“It’s been a brilliant few years being on the winning side of things and the team bond we’ve created and I just want that to continue so it was a bit of a no brainer really.”

Smith has made 174 appearances for Wigan in all competitions, having come through the club’s academy.

An England international, he has also made 11 appearances for his country, including in two Tests during last year’s Ashes series.

“He is an outstanding player and plays an important leadership role within our team, both on and off the field,” head coach Matt Peet said.

“On a personal level, I am looking forward to continuing to work with Harry as he moves into the prime years of his career. He is highly skilled, possesses an exceptional rugby IQ, and has a competitive spirit that makes him a pleasure to work alongside every day.”
