Munster fly-half Jack Crowley has been ruled out of Saturday’s United Rugby Championship quarter-final against the Bulls in Pretoria (12:00 BST).

The Ireland number 10 was named in the Irish province’s starting line-up for their final regular URC game against the Lions nine days ago but withdrew soon before kick-off as Clayton McMillan’s side went on to win 24-17 and secure their place in the play-offs.

Crowley had previously missed the loss to Connacht while he also pulled out just before Munster’s game against Ulster at the end of April.

On a more positive note, Fineen Wycherley and Alex Nankivell have both returned to training after withdrawing from the matchday squad to face Lions.

The Munster squad will depart for South Africa on Tuesday and will arrive in Pretoria on Wednesday.
