Anna Davies scored four tries and Eva Hunter bagged a hat-trick as Wigan Warriors walloped Barrow Raiders 74-6 to continue their 100% start to the Women’s Super League season.

Defending champions Wigan ran in 14 tries as they overpowered Barrow at the Speed Competitions Stadium to make it six victories from six matches in all competitions this term.

They are top of the early table on points difference from St Helens after the first two league matches of the campaign.

Davies led the rout, scoring her first try in the opening minute, and she went over twice in each half.

Hunter ran in two tries to add to her score just before half-time, when she fended off two tackles to go over.

Ellise Derbyshire recorded two tries, while Jenna Foubister, Grace Banks, Isabel Rowe, Bethan Dainton and Ruby Hunter also crossed the line.

The result and performance were the perfect preparation for Denis Betts’s side before Saturday’s Challenge Cup final against rivals St Helens at Wembley.

Vanessa Temple scored Barrow’s only try, from an interception, and the Raiders, who have lost all four of their games this season, have also been beaten in their seven meetings with Wigan.
