Wigan Athletic captain Jason Kerr will leave the League One side after almost five years with the Latics.

The 29-year-old joined the club during the summer of 2021 and won the League One title during his first season.

Kerr has made 150 appearances for Wigan in all competitions, including 37 during the 2025-26 campaign.

He departs the club alongside Will Aimson, Toby Savin, Luke Robinson, Steven Sessegnon, Tyrese Francois, Matthew Corran and Jack Hunt.

Meanwhile, Joseph Hungbo, Baba Adeeko, Jonny Smith, Ronan Darcy and Maleace Asamoah have been made available for transfer.

Darcy joined Wigan from Crawley in January 2025 but he returned to the Red Devils on loan earlier this year.

Sessegnon had been transfer-listed last season but stayed with the Latics and made 15 appearances this season – however, his most recent appearance came in February.

Former Plymouth and Bolton defender Aimson leaves having made 98 appearances in all competitions after joining in summer 2024, while Hunt departs following the completion of the short-term deal he signed in February.
