Nationwide Building Society has partnered with PayPoint to expand cash‑deposit services for millions of members across the UK.

The building society announced on April 28 that customers can now deposit cash at more than 3,000 PayPoint locations nationwide.

The move is aimed at increasing convenience for those who prefer to handle physical cash.

Members can deposit up to £300 per day directly into their Nationwide accounts, with funds processed within minutes.

The new service adds to Nationwide’s existing network of 605 branches, and many PayPoint locations operate extended hours, including early mornings, late evenings and weekends, with some open on bank holidays and Christmas Day.

The network also provides widespread geographic coverage across the UK.

Nationwide said the partnership “furthers its commitment to give customers choice in how they bank and access cash”.

Customers can locate their nearest PayPoint outlet through the building society’s website or mobile app.

Stephen Noakes, director of retail at Nationwide, said: “We’re pleased to partner with PayPoint to give our customers even more choice in how they manage their money, this service is a valuable addition to our branches.”

He added that Nationwide’s commitment to keeping branches open until at least 2030 “remains unchanged”, and that the partnership helps serve customers and communities “in new and convenient ways.”

Nationwide has committed to maintaining its branch network, a stance that contrasts with widespread closures across the banking sector in recent years.

The organisation operates the UK’s largest single‑brand branch network.

Jo Toolan, managing director of network services at PayPoint, said: “Our retailer partners provide a vast range of essential services, serving as key community hubs for everything from grocery, utility, parcel, cash and voucher redemption services.”

She said enabling Nationwide customers to make deposits at more than 3,000 convenience stores “represents the future of front‑line banking access in the UK” and expands access to essential services within local communities.

The collaboration builds on existing support available through Nationwide branches, including dementia clinics and Safe Spaces for people experiencing domestic abuse.
