Of Stockport’s three games, two are at home, as they face Peterborough on Saturday, then already-relegated Port Vale at Edgeley Park on Tuesday before rounding off the season with a visit to Barnsley.

Stockport missed out on automatic promotion last season having finished third, but were knocked out of the play-offs at the semi-final stage by Leyton Orient.

“The disappointment for us is that the past couple of games, in my opinion, we’ve dropped points,” Challinor added.

“We’ve got two home games. We can’t complain about anything else. We have to make sure we turn up and produce a performance on Saturday.

“Again, it doesn’t have to be too dissimilar to what we’ve done tonight [against Mansfield], but we need to be much better in the final third. And then that hopefully allow us to look at what Tuesday looks like and look at what next Saturday looks like.”
