“You’ve got to remember this is Jeremy’s show, it’s not like mine and his or his and Richard’s.
“It’s his baby and if at the end of a series, he can think of something he wants to do for another series, then he’ll do it.
“But if he can’t think of anything to do or say, then that would be the end of it – it hasn’t happened yet, but that’s the agreement he has with Amazon.”
Mr Wilman drew comparisons with his previous productions alongside Clarkson, noting that Top Gear “kind of got ended for us” rather than being a planned conclusion.

The Grand Tour, by contrast, was deliberately brought to a close in September 2024, with the team determined to “land the plane while we’re still in the air and dignified.”
“You can’t have that thing where you have done one series too many and people say, ‘That’s bollocks now, it’s a busted flush,'” Mr Wilman observed.
“So you have to discipline yourself to say, ‘We end this now while we still have an audience’.”
Fans of Clarkson’s Farm can expect fresh episodes to land on Prime Video within weeks, according to Mr Wilman, revealing that the fifth series of the hugely successful farming documentary could arrive as soon as May.

The long-time collaborator of Mr Clarkson confirmed that new instalments would be released through a “slow release drop” format on the streaming platform.
This news comes after Mr Clarkson took a rare break from filming in early 2026, marking his first extended pause from television work in four decades.
The presenter had previously indicated he would resume shooting at Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire if snow arrived, with production reportedly picking up pace in recent weeks.
A sixth series has already been confirmed, with Mr Clarkson previously stating he has “two quite good” ideas remaining.
Mr Wilman described the farming programme as “the most joyous thing to edit” of all his projects, adding that “every series we have is a bonus.”
Viewers can also look forward to a Christmas special episode that Mr Wilman has praised in extraordinary terms.
The festive instalment will centre around Mr Clarkson’s ambition to create a Santa’s grotto at the farm, with a planning discussion between the former Top Gear presenter and farm manager Charlie Ireland forming its centrepiece.
“I think that is the best scene I’ve ever, ever seen them do and I remember the editor and I looking at each other saying ‘this is the best television to make ever’,” Wilman said.
