Olivia Tchine top-scored with 32 goals as London Pulse beat Leeds Rhinos 61-52 to climb up to second in the Netball Super League standings.

Pulse won their second straight match to move level on 12 points with leaders Loughborough Lightning, who have played a game less and inflicted the London side’s only defeat earlier this month.

Having scored 46 goals in the victory against Nottingham Forest in the previous round, 25-year-old England goal shooter Tchine starred once again against Rhinos and extended her tally to a league‑leading 166 from five matches.

Rhinos replied through Jamaica international Simone Gordon’s 23 goals and Paige Reed’s 15 but fell short at Canon Medical Arena.

The defeat left Leeds in ninth place with three points and only Birmingham Panthers, who are yet to open their account this season, behind them.

Lightning can pull clear of Pulse at the top when they face bottom side Panthers in one of three games in the fifth round on Saturday.
