Cruz Beckham is understood to have been visibly overcome with emotion during his performance at London’s Courtyard Theatre on Tuesday evening whilst singing a track many believe references his estranged older brother Brooklyn.

The 21-year-old appeared to struggle through Loneliest Boy, with a bandmate stepping in to comfort him by placing an arm around his shoulder and affectionately tousling his hair.

Cruz was seen wiping his face with his shirt sleeve as he delivered the poignant ballad, which remains unreleased.

The intimate 150-capacity venue in Old Street hosted the performance as part of his band The Breakers’ successful three-week UK tour.

Fans watching the emotional moment have become convinced the song directly addresses the rift with his 27-year-old sibling.

The track’s lyrics paint a stark picture of familial breakdown, with lines including “Loneliest boy, mama don’t talk too much, it’s breaking her heart” and “Don’t push all your friends away, when we’re tryna show you love.”

Further verses appear to take aim at someone close: “It shows in the small things that you don’t do, I guess in the end that it’s you, yourself, and you.

“Tell me how do you live, when you’ve got nobody to lose?”

The song emerged amid the ongoing family rupture following Brooklyn’s explosive six-page Instagram statement in January, in which he declared: “I do not want to reconcile with my family.”

Brooklyn accused his parents of controlling press narratives, posting performative social media content, and attempting to damage his marriage to actress Nicola Peltz.

David and Victoria Beckham attended the sold-out performance alongside middle son Romeo, arriving at the venue just five minutes before Cruz took to the stage.

The proud parents positioned themselves in a reserved area towards the rear of the intimate space, where they smiled and cheered throughout the hour-long set.

The family outing represented one of their first public appearances together since Brooklyn’s bombshell social media statement earlier this year.

In his lengthy Instagram post, the eldest Beckham child accused his parents of being controlling, planting negative stories in the press, and attempting to undermine his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz.

Brooklyn wrote: “For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.”

Cruz’s UK tour draws to a close with two remaining performances at the Courtyard Theatre, both of which have sold out.

The young musician will then embark on his first American headline tour, with dates announced for the summer months.

An August performance in Los Angeles could potentially bring Cruz into proximity with his estranged brother, who resides in the city with wife Nicola Peltz.

Speaking to Rolling Stone this week about his parents’ support, Cruz said: “They’ve been so supportive. Very honest too, but I really listen and trust their feedback on everything, but in the end they support me unconditionally and I want to work hard to make them proud.”

His latest single For Your Love is currently available.
