The Reverend Canon Paul Williams visited Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor a day before meeting King Charles in Sandringham.

The vicar was seen driving up a track to Wood Farm, where the former Duke of York is staying after being booted out of Royal Lodge.

Mr Williams stayed for around an hour before leaving, as revealed by The Sun.

The former prince has had a limited number of visitors to Wood Farm and has not been seen since he was arrested and released under investigation on misconduct in public office.

A witness said: “Andy’s having a pretty lonely existence as his only visitors are staff, police and delivery drivers from Waitrose.

“Even the King avoided Andy all weekend, despite staying two miles away and going out in his car nearby.

“Canon Williams drove down the track to Wood Farm for a chat. The next morning he and Charles were seen having a good old friendly natter before the church service at Sandringham.”

The King was greeted by the vicar when he arrived at St Mary Magdalene Church yesterday, having a good laugh before heading into the service.

Charles, 77, wrapped up in his usual brown coat, walking with a black umbrella as he waved towards the cameras.

The monarch had travelled to the estate via helicopter on February 27, following a busy period of engagements.

Despite only being a couple of miles away, His Majesty has no intentions of seeing his brother, sources have claimed.

A friend of the former prince explained that Andrew is “really insistent that he can and will clear his name”.

The former prince has not been seen since his release from Aylsham police station, where he was held in custody for 11 hours.

Andrew was released under investigation following his arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office over his ties to paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.

A friend of Andrew explained that the former duke “will clear his name” and feels he has been let down by his brother, despite the King continuing to give him money and a home on the Sandringham Estate.

“His view is that he has been unfairly – even brutally – treated, and the person he blames for this is the King,” the friend told the Mail.

They added: “It’s as though he’s deliberately blocked out the outside world.”

The King released a statement just a couple of hours after his brother’s arrest, emphasising that “the law must take its course”.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are understood to support the King’s statement.

Andrew has denied any wrongdoing over his Epstein links, but has not directly responded to the latest allegations.
