Political commentator Matthew Torbitt and former Love Island star Sharon Gaffka have announced they’re expecting their first child together.

Taking to Instagram, the pair shared a joint update confirming the news with a playful announcement.

Ms Gaffka could be seen cradling her blossoming bump while standing next to the father-to-be.

GB News regular Mr Torbitt was all smiles while holding a newspaper aloft with the headline “Due July 2026” written on the front.

In a second snap, the engaged couple both hid behind the newspaper, aptly titled “The Gaffka-Torbitt Times”.

Ms Gaffka penned in the accompanying caption of the update: “When I thought I was going to be spending my 30th birthday weekend with my head in a toilet…this isn’t quite what I had in mind!”

She signed off: “Baby Gaffka-Torbitt is on their way.”

Inevitably, it didn’t take long for fans and followers to flood the pair with their congratulatory messages.

“Oh my goodness congratulations,” penned former The Apprentice star Lottie Lion.

Meanwhile, former Love Island star, Nas Majeed, weighed in: “Congratulations to you both!”

And another former islander, Kaz Kamwi, wrote to the duo: “So special !!!! Congratulations angel.” (sic)

News of their pregnancy comes less than three months after Mr Torbitt proposed to Ms Gaffka during a trip to the Alps.

“Went up to the Alps to seal the deal,” Mr Torbitt announced on X on December 12, alongside a video of him popping the question to his tearful other half.

In humorous fashion, Mr Torbitt “clarified” at the time: “I’m awaiting surgery so couldn’t get down on one knee.

“Sharon hates the idea of a public proposal so I did it sneakily and didn’t want to draw attention whilst capturing the moment!

“Yes I am absolutely punching I wake up every day knowing it,” he signed off.

He said: “I think actually, weirdly, you’d never expect me to say that they’re nicking Labor’s clothes on this policy, because Shabana Mahmood would no doubt champion the fact that she’s already doing this.

“She threatened Namibia and Angola with a similar sort of thing, said we’re going to freeze visas unless you take these people back that we believe don’t belong here anymore, and they saw results in that.

“So I suppose in that sense, the proof is in the pudding. It seems to have results. And it seems odd to me that they’re still focusing on immigration. I think if you’re talking about immigration at the next election, you’re probably voting Reform.

“That’s pretty priced in that you’ve given up on Tories who had the Boris wave, as it’s now termed. Labour don’t seem to be acting on the boats and people feel very frustrated.”
