Lancashire have appointed former England coach Matthew Mott as a specialist T20 coaching consultant.

The 52-year-old Australian coached England’s men’s white-ball teams between 2022 and 2024 and led them to success in the T20 World Cup in 2022.

He also guided Australia to victory in the women’s T20 and 50-over World Cups during a seven-year spell in charge.

Mott will also lead the newly named Manchester Super Giants women’s team in this year’s Hundred competition.

“Matthew’s track record speaks for itself. He has achieved sustained success at international level, winning global tournaments and leading high-performing teams in pressure environments,” director of cricket performance Mark Chilton told the club website., external

“His experience and tactical insights will be hugely beneficial to our Blast campaigns over the next two seasons.

“For Matthew, it’s a nice fit to work at Emirates Old Trafford ahead of his role with Manchester Super Giants following the conclusion of the Blast.”
