Sir Keir Starmer was handed a damning smackdown in PMQs after Tory leader Kemi Badenoch accused the Prime Minister of demonstrating “stratospheric levels of delusion”.

In a fiery clash during Prime Minister’s Questions, Sir Keir delivered a damning assessment of the Conservative Party over multiple defections to Nigel Farage’s Reform UK.

However, Mrs Badenoch fired back at Sir Keir, saying: “The Prime Minister is demonstrating stratospheric levels of delusion if he thinks the problem is on this side of the house.”

She went on to say the Prime Minister was “throwing everyone under a bus except himself”.

The Leader of the Opposition questioned why Sir Keir appointed his former director communications, Matthew Doyle, to the House of Lords despite his links to convicted paedophile Sean Morton.

Lord Doyle campaigned for Morton in 2017 after he had been charged over indecent images of children.

Sir Keir responded: “Matthew Doyle did not give a full account of his actions.”On Monday I promised my party, and my country there would be change. Yesterday I removed the whip form Matthew Doyle.”
