Zia Yusuf has called on Sir Keir Starmer to resign after the latest Epstein files revealed the ex-Cabinet Minister allegedly received $75,000 (£55,000) from the convicted paedophile and has been reported to the police.

The Reform bigwig declared the story to be “one of the most extraordinary political stories” of his lifetime, apart from the “egregious and heinous criminal acts that Jeffrey Epstein committed himself”.

On Sunday night, the ex-UK Ambassador to the US ousted himself from the Labour Party to avoid causing “further embarrassment” following further revelations about his friendship with the sex offender.

Today, Sir Keir Starmer said he believes Lord Mandelson should step down as a member of the House of Lords, demanding an urgent review into the scandal.

Downing Street has declared the New Labour Cabinet Minister should no longer be allowed to sit in Parliament – yet the Prime Minister lacks the actual power to strip him of his peerage.

In the latest deluge of documents related to Epstein, emails appear to show Lord Mandelson sharing internal government information about the then-Prime Minister Gordon Brown to the convicted sex pest.

He is also alleged to have shared market sensitive information with Epstein during his Cabinet tenure.

But Mr Yusuf has declared Sir Keir will have to go further and step down from his post himself.

On GB News, Reform’s policy chief said: “I think it’s one of the most extraordinary political stories in my lifetime, aside from, obviously, the egregious and heinous criminal acts that Jeffrey Epstein committed himself.

“Number one, Peter Mandelson gave an early heads up to Jeffrey Epstein about Gordon Brown’s resignation and gave an early heads up to Jeffrey Epstein of the half a of the $500billion eurozone bailout of the euro.

“And those are obviously market sensitive things to a man who, by the way, obviously managed an enormous amount of money, if we can call it that.

“So it is clear as day, this is open-and-shut stuff. I think this is market manipulation.

GETTY

“Let’s not forget Keir Starmer himself appointed Peter Mandelson not that long ago to be Britain’s ambassador to the United States of America.

“He did so in defiance of advice from the United Kingdom’s intelligence agencies. I think Keir Starmer has a serious question to answer, and personally I think Keir Starmer needs to resign.”

Now, this afternoon, a Reform spokesman said: “We have today reported Peter Mandelson to the police for misconduct in public office.

“It’s abundantly clear that Peter Mandelson has abused his position in office. It’s now time the police do their job and properly investigate these shocking new revelations.”

Meanwhile, Ella Marriott, Commander of the Metropolitan Police said: “We are aware of the further release of millions of court documents in relation to Jeffrey Epstein by the United States Department of Justice.

“Following this release and subsequent media reporting, the Met has received a number of reports relating to alleged misconduct in a public office.

“The reports will all be reviewed to determine if they meet the criminal threshold for investigation.

“As with any matter, if new and relevant information is brought to our attention we will assess it, and investigate as appropriate.”
