A 14-year-old boy has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a teenaged e-scooter passenger was killed when it crashed into a car.

Jacob Calland died in the collision while travelling with his friend on the e-scooter in Southmoor Road, Manchester, on 19 March 2025.

The suspect, who has not been named for legal reasons, has been bailed and is set to appear at Manchester Youth Court on 24 February, said Greater Manchester Police.

The teenager has also been charged with causing death by driving while unlicensed, and causing death by driving while uninsured.
