A gunman who disguised himself as a Deliveroo delivery rider before shooting an eight-year-old girl and her father has been sentenced to 38 years behind bars.

Jazz Reid, 33, received the lengthy prison term at the Old Bailey after being convicted of attempted murder and wounding with intent.

The attack took place in Ladbroke Grove, west London, on 24 November 2024, when Reid unleashed a barrage of gunfire at the victims as they sat inside a vehicle with other relatives.

Judge Sarah Whitehouse KC also imposed an additional five years on extended licence when passing sentence.

Reid had denied responsibility throughout proceedings, with the motivation behind his violent crimes remaining unexplained.

The 34-year-old father sustained gunshot wounds to his back, chest, abdomen and pelvis area after being struck five times by Reid’s bullets.

His young daughter was hit twice, suffering injuries to her buttocks and foot.

Remarkably, both victims survived the attack despite the severity of their wounds.

The shooting occurred just hours after the family had visited a trampoline park to mark the little girl’s eighth birthday.

Reid discharged 11 rounds at the vehicle during the assault, which the court heard was a targeted attack on the father.

This was not Reid’s first attempt on the man’s life – he had previously fired four shots at an address linked to the same victim on November 11 2024.

Reid’s campaign of violence began on October 9 2024, when he shot a 27-year-old man in the thigh at a property in Notting Hill, leaving him with serious injuries.

For each attack, the gunman employed the same calculated approach – travelling by converted e-bike whilst wearing the distinctive green rucksack associated with the food delivery service.

He stored the modified bicycle and Deliveroo equipment at a location in Ladbroke Grove, having driven there from his home in Uxbridge.

Metropolitan Police detectives pieced together Reid’s movements by analysing hundreds of hours of CCTV footage alongside mobile phone records and automatic number plate recognition data.

Officers discovered a loaded pistol concealed beneath a concrete slab at the rear of his property during a search on November 26 2024.

The weapon bore Reid’s DNA and was confirmed as the firearm used in the final shooting.

The mother of the young victim and partner of the injured man provided a statement describing how Reid’s actions had “completely shattered both my life and my family’s”.

She spoke of carrying guilt at being unable to protect her daughter, adding: “That day should’ve been about her, not what it turned into because of this man.”

The woman described her daughter as now being “a shadow of the bubbly, bright, larger than life character she once was”, whilst her partner had transformed from an active, social man to one who cannot walk.

Judge Whitehouse acknowledged that no sentence could alleviate the family’s suffering, noting the father was unlikely to ever walk again.

Detective Inspector Richard Scott, who led the investigation, described the crimes as “truly shocking” and “carefully planned and executed”.
