Poundland is closing a dozen stores across the UK this month as the discount retailer continues a major restructuring programme.
Three branches ceased trading today on January 5.
The stores closing today are located in Bexhill in East Sussex, Ponders End in north London, and Kilmarnock in East Ayrshire.
Poundland said the closures form part of a wider overhaul aimed at improving performance while maintaining a reduced presence on UK high streets.
The retailer has already significantly reduced its estate and is continuing with further closures throughout January.
A total of nine additional shops are scheduled to shut before the end of the month, which will bring the total number of closures in January to 12.
Poundland said the changes are part of an ongoing review of its store portfolio.
The retailer confirmed that shoppers can take advantage of clearance sales at affected branches before they close.
Discounts of up to 40 per cent are being offered as stores run down stock ahead of their final trading days.

Poundland said prices will continue to be reduced until remaining stock is cleared.
By early 2026, the retailer expects to have closed more than 100 stores since the start of its restructuring programme.
Store numbers are forecast to fall from around 800 last year to between 650 and 700, with the company saying closures are occurring as leases expire or landlords decide to reclaim sites.
Despite the reduced estate, Poundland said it remains committed to offering low prices across its remaining stores.
The retailer has confirmed that around 60 per cent of grocery items will be priced at £1, applying across its retained locations.

He said customers would still be able to shop at other Poundland locations.
