Jason Kelce has dropped a potential hint that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding might not follow traditional conventions when it comes to the best man role.
Speaking on Good Morning America, the former Philadelphia Eagles centre was quizzed about his readiness to deliver a best man speech at his brother’s upcoming nuptials.
His response raised eyebrows, as he appeared to suggest the couple may opt against having a formal wedding party altogether.
“Time will tell if there is one or anything like that,” Jason remarked, casting uncertainty over whether the Kansas City Chiefs tight end will even have a best man standing beside him on the big day.
Despite remaining tight-lipped on the specifics of the ceremony, Jason made clear he harbours no expectations about his involvement.
“I’ve been given no details on that front,” he admitted during the interview.
The retired NFL star emphasised his willingness to contribute in whatever way the couple sees fit.
“But, you know, I think, however I’m involved, I’ll be happy to be and I’m just happy for those two,” he added.
His comments suggest that while wedding arrangements remain firmly under wraps, Jason’s priority lies in supporting his younger brother and Swift rather than securing any particular role for himself at their celebration.
This is not the first occasion Jason has addressed the possibility of serving as best man at his brother’s wedding.
Back in September, he appeared on the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast where he openly discussed his aspirations for the role.
“Hopefully I’m the best man. We’ll see,” Jason said during that conversation.
He acknowledged the competition he faces, given his brother’s extensive social circle.
“Trav has a lot of friends, I’m just hoping to get the opportunity,” he explained at the time.
The earlier comments stand in contrast to his more recent measured response, suggesting the couple may have since made decisions about their wedding party arrangements that remain private.
Whatever role Jason ultimately plays in the ceremony, it will be a decision made jointly by the couple themselves.

A source close to Swift and Kelce told People earlier this month that the pair have approached wedding preparations as true partners.
“When it comes to wedding planning, nothing feels rushed or one-sided,” the source revealed. “They’re both equally involved and excited, and this isn’t something one or the other is carrying on their own.”
The insider added that organising their nuptials has brought the couple closer together.
“They’re approaching it as a partnership, talking things through together and enjoying the process in a way that feels natural to them,” the source explained.
