Former Manchester United defender Jonny Evans has left his role as the club’s head of loans and pathways.

Evans, 37, was appointed in June after retiring at the end of the 2024-25 season.

At the time, Manchester United said his role would involve him leading on loan moves for the club’s young players, working with director of football Jason Wilcox to maximise player development and prepare young talent for the first team.

It is understood the former Northern Ireland international wishes to spend more time with his family and that his departure is amicable.

Evans, who made 241 appearances for United, came through their academy and won three Premier League titles, the Champions League, the Club World Cup, the FA Cup and two League Cups with the club.

As well as two spells at Old Trafford, Evans played in the Premier League for West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City, and had two periods on loan at Sunderland.

He also won 107 caps for Northern Ireland.
