Prince George paid a touching tribute to his mother, Princess Kate, during the future Queen’s Together at Christmas Carol Service.

George, 12, selected a forest green tie that closely matched the Princess of Wales’s jacket.

His younger siblings Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven, joined the family for the festive occasion at Westminster Abbey.

The Wales children coordinated their outfits with their father, wearing navy blue suits with white shirts, while Charlotte opted for a navy dress featuring a white collar.

Prince Louis’s tie incorporated both green and blue elements, cleverly uniting the family’s colour palette for the evening.

This appearance followed another notable moment of support from the young prince just weeks earlier.

In November, George made an unexpected appearance alongside his mother at the Royal British Legion’s Festival of Remembrance, held at the Royal Albert Hall.

It marked his inaugural attendance at the ceremony, which pays tribute to fallen service personnel from Britain and the Commonwealth.

The Prince of Wales was travelling back from his Earthshot Prize ceremony in Brazil that evening, prompting George to step in as his mother’s companion.

The pair dressed in dark attire adorned with red poppy pins, the traditional symbol of remembrance, as they sat with other royals during the service.

William arrived home in time for the Remembrance Sunday commemorations at the Cenotaph the following day, though observers found it heartening to witness George accompanying Kate during what has been another testing period for the family.

The Princess of Wales disclosed in a video message in March 2024 that she had begun chemotherapy following planned abdominal surgery earlier that January.

She confirmed in September 2024 that her treatment had concluded.

Earlier this year, Kate shared that she was in remission.

LATEST ROYAL NEWS:

The public appearances by George alongside his mother have carried particular significance given the health challenges the family has navigated over the past year.

In an appearance on the Apple TV+ series The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy, William reflected on how his children have managed their mother’s health journey.

“Everyone has their own coping mechanisms for these sorts of things, and children are constantly learning and adapting,” he said. “We try to make sure we give them the security and the safety that they need.”

The prince added: “We’re a very open family, so we talk about things that bother us, and things that trouble us, but you never quite know the knock-on effects that it can have.”

George faces a milestone year ahead, turning 13 on July 22 before commencing secondary school, with reports suggesting Eton College as the likely destination.
