Princess Kate wowed fans as she stepped out for the State Banquet in a glitzy blue dress and sash.

The Princess of Wales stunned in a tiara she has never been spotted in public before.

Kate opted for Queen Victoria’s Oriental Circlet Tiara, made of diamonds and rubies, which was designed by the German-born Prince Albert.

Her purple-blue, floor-length sequinned gown with flowing cape shoulder detail was by Jenny Packham.

She also wore the late Queen’s earrings, the Royal Family Order and the GCVO Sash and Star.

The princess joined Prince William, King Charles and Queen Camilla for the white-tie dress code event.

The royal headpiece was the fifth time Kate has stepped out with a tiara, but this was the biggest to date.

According to Garrard, the tiara was crafted in 1853 for Queen Victoria under the direction of her husband, Prince Albert.

The choice may have been a nod to Prince Albert, who was from Germany.

The sparkling accessory features 2,600 diamonds and was originally set with opals before Queen Alexandra later replaced the gems with rubies.
