A major supermarket chain will cover the cost of the Christmas food shop as part of a “festive giveaway” if loyal customers complete one specific task.

Shoppers could receive their Christmas groceries for free through Aldi’s Advent Giveaway, which is returning in 2025.

The supermarket is giving away vouchers worth up to £100 every day from now until Christmas Eve to households looking to keep their Christmas costs down.

Under this initiative, customers could win back the cost of their entire festive food shop but only certain individuals will be able to take advantage of this deal.

Customers who buy festive food at Aldi can enter a daily prize draw, with one shopper selected each day to receive a voucher covering the value of their shop up to £100.

The promotion comes as many households continue to manage higher living costs during the festive period with food inflation continuing to surge.

Aldi’s Christmas campaign offers an additional incentive to people planning their seasonal food purchases.

To enter, shoppers must email [email protected] after completing their Christmas shop at any Aldi store.

Entrants need to include their full name, the county where they live, and a clear photograph of their receipt. Aldi selects one winner at random each day.

The winner receives a voucher matching the amount they spent in store, capped at £100. The giveaway runs throughout December until Christmas Eve.

Each receipt counts as a new entry, providing shoppers with multiple chances to win as they prepare for the festive season.

The Advent Giveaway forms part of Aldi’s wider plans to support customers seeking affordable options during the Christmas period.

GETTY

The supermarket has launched a Christmas range this year that includes new and returning products positioned as premium festive items at competitive prices.

Rachel Geary, communications director at Aldi, said: “Christmas can be an expensive time of year, and we know how important it is for families to feel they’re getting great value from their festive shop”.

Ms Geary said the giveaway is one of several initiatives being introduced during the Christmas period.

She added: “Alongside our commitment to offering the very best quality at the lowest prices, this giveaway is just one of the ways we’re giving something extra back to our customers – helping make the season a little easier and bringing a touch of joy in the lead-up to the big day.”

Aldi has also recently been named Christmas Retailer of the Year at the Quality Food Awards.

The accolade recognises performance in areas including quality, festive range expansion and value during the peak shopping season.

The award follows ongoing competition among major UK supermarkets to attract Christmas shoppers.

Retailers typically introduce seasonal ranges and promotional campaigns in the run-up to December as customers prepare for their main festive shop.

For those looking to enter the Advent Giveaway, full terms and conditions are available on the Aldi website.

With daily draws taking place until Christmas Eve, shoppers who keep their receipts have repeated opportunities to take part.
