Two women who died in a crash that also left a nine-year-old boy with life-changing injuries have been named.

Amie Pearson, 26, and Chelsea Carlisle, 29, were travelling in a Suzuki Alto with the boy when it was involved in a crash with a Vauxhall Meriva in Pleasley, on the Derbyshire-Nottinghamshire border, at about 06:20 GMT on Thursday.

Three men who were in the other car were also hurt, with two taken to hospital with serious injuries.

An 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene on Common Lane on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in hospital.
