Janette Manrara took a moment on Strictly: It Takes Two to assure viewers after fans complained about being deceived by the chat show.

The Strictly Come Dancing spin-off show airs every weekday, giving fans some insight into how the professionals and celebrities are preparing for Saturday night.

Hosts Ms Manrara and Fleur East always make clear the show is coming to audiences live, but an oversight on Tuesday’s edition saw the presenter addressing backlash over this claim.

During last night’s programme, the former Strictly pro was forced to make a clarification after viewers rushed to complain that Tuesday’s show clearly hadn’t been live.

Ms Manrara quickly moved on with the show following the clarification.

Her announcement followed a flood of social media complaints, with one writing on X: “Erm thought #ItTakesTwo was live???

“The La Voix news broke 3 hrs ago!!??? Typical #BBC.”

A second echoed: “They specifically say that #ItTakesTwo is live, but they just had to put a message on screen with the fact that La Voix isn’t dancing, so they clearly aren’t live when that was hours ago?! #Strictly.”

“That’s what you get from weirdly prerecording Tuesday’s #ItTakesTwo. Fleur gets into a right mess about what’s happening #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing,” another shared.

Following the clarification, someone else wrote: “Wow, well that’s news to me!!! I will never be able to watch it in the same way again.”

Others argued the show had always made clear which episodes are live and which are pre-recorded, with one arguing: “Certain ppl not realising it takes two is prerecorded on Tuesdays still will never not be funny #ittakestwo.”

“I don’t get how fans didn’t know about a Tuesday #ItTakesTwo #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing,” another penned. (sic)

The show is filmed live from the BBC’s Elstree Studios, with the Tuesday show pre-recorded on a Monday, shortly after the day’s live episode has aired.

It was announced on Tuesday that drag performer La Voix had been forced to pull out of the upcoming weekend’s show after doctors advised the 45-year-old to rest after an injury.

La Voix, whose real name is Chris Dennis, shared a recent update, stating: “This has been ongoing since the foxtrot. I felt a little niggle in my foot, hence comments about me being flat-footed. I was thinking this will be fine, but it got gradually worse.

“Until on Saturday we had to change shoes, I couldn’t wear heels. I had to wear those awful flat shoes.

“We tried on Monday and it was really clear I was struggling in pain so we decided to be professional and call this, hoping with some rest I can be back.” (sic)
