Vogue Williams is set to join the I’m A Celebrity jungle as a late arrival on Thursday, but she’ll be doing so without husband Spencer Matthews by her side.

While most contestants have partners or family members waiting in Australia, the Made in Chelsea Star will be thousands of miles away, tied up with a major personal commitment that has taken him across the globe.

It has now been revealed that Mr Matthews is in the midst of an extraordinary endurance mission, attempting to complete seven full Ironman races across seven continents in just 21 days.

The budding athlete is currently the only person from the UK taking on the challenge.

Ms Williams, 40, will enter camp alongside Celebs Go Dating favourite Tom Read Wilson, several days after the main group of celebrities began their jungle journey on Sunday.

Her husband’s absence stands in contrast to the usual parade of loved ones who fly out to support their partners on the ITV series.

Mr Matthews’ next destination is South Africa, marking the latest stop in the punishing worldwide schedule he discussed earlier this month on Good Morning Britain, where he said his wife “hopes to be at the finish line” when he completes the challenge.

The reality star himself has history with the franchise, having appeared on the 2015 series before being removed over “steroid-based medication”.

The pair, who share three young children, are now juggling two extreme commitments at once – Ms Williams facing jungle life while Ms Matthews endures some of the toughest physical conditions on the planet.

The model has already hinted she plans to inject some playful chaos into camp, inspired by BBC hit The Traitors.

“I wouldn’t mind causing a bit of mischief, a bit like Traitors vibes,” she told ITV. “I don’t want to annoy anyone, but I think I’m very much willing to go along with the game.”

But beneath the competitive spirit, she admitted her biggest fear is being separated from her children – Theodore, six, Gigi, four, and Otto, three.

“My only real worry is missing the kids and missing Spencer and missing my family,” she said.

The presenter spent weeks preparing for her absence, completing her Christmas shopping and organising food and routines for the next month to keep the household running smoothly.

Ms Williams revealed she had to be careful when telling her children she was entering the jungle: “I had to be careful telling my kids, because they have a bigger mouth than me.”

The I’m A Celeb newcomer went on to say how turning 40 prompted her to push beyond her comfort zone.

“I sleep with four pillows in my bed just for me,” she admitted, adding that she even follows the same walking route in the park each day.

The milestone birthday, she said, made her embrace something more unpredictable.

Among the home comforts Ms Williams will miss most are her morning coffee, her pillows, her private bathroom and her LED face mask.

She also worries about coping without salt or sugar, acknowledging the change may affect her mood.

Spencer Matthews is currently the only person from the UK taking on the marathon challenge

And most daunting of all for Ms Williams: she loves eating – something the jungle diet won’t allow.
