Pedestrian killed after being hit by car named | UK News

Jamie Mitchell was 24 years old and from the Portrush area

A man who died after being hit by a car in Coleraine has been named as Jamie Mitchell.

He was 24 years old and from the Portrush area, police said.

It happened on the Dunhill Road in the County Londonderry town at about 01:20 GMT on Saturday.

Police officers and the emergency services attended but Mr Mitchell died at the scene.

The road had been closed but has since reopened.

PSNI Ch Insp Celeste Simpson from the Collision Investigation Unit said police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or to anyone who may have CCTV, dash-cam or any other footage that could assist with enquiries, to get in touch with them.
