One of the most successful premium brands in the UK has unveiled an update to its plans for the future of petrol, diesel and electric models.
Bentley will continue to produce vehicles with internal combustion engines as the marque plans a limited production run of a performance model.
More details about this model will be revealed later this year, while the brand could make an amendment to its target of having an exclusively electric line-up by 2035.
The manufacturer announced that it had created a new vehicle segment with the world’s first “Luxury Urban SUV”.
The new Bentley, which has been designed, developed and produced in Crewe, is set to launch towards the end of next year, with deliveries to all markets taking place in 2027.
While the model has not yet been named, Bentley has promised rapid charging from zero to 100 miles in just seven minutes and the bespoke craftsmanship seen with other Bentley models.
Bentley will also continue to offer hybrid versions of the Continental GT coupe, Convertible and Flying Spur until at least 2035.
The vehicles, which are being offered in both High and Ultra-Performance variants, are popular among Bentley’s customer base, prompting it to make changes to its Beyond100+ goal.

As a result, the brand’s previous target of having an exclusively electric line-up by 2035 could be extended.
The Bentayga Speed with an ICE engine has already been in Bentley’s line-up this year, with the Crewe-based manufacturer confirming that a new non-hybridised and limited performance model would be released.
Speaking at the event, Dr Frank-Steffen Walliser, Chairman and CEO of Bentley, refused to rule out further ICE engine vehicles from being introduced.
He noted that the brand would maintain its powertrain flexibility to meet the demands of customers in markets around the world.
He continued, saying: “Today’s updates to our Beyond100+ strategy reaffirm Bentley’s commitment to progress – responsibly and sustainably.
“We are evolving our product cadence to reflect the realities of a changing world and a dynamic marketplace.
“By introducing new internal combustion engined models, and offering hybrid powertrains until at least 2035, we are ensuring that every Bentley customer can continue to experience the full breadth of our performance and craftsmanship.”
He described the first electric Bentley as “representing a bold step forward”, with a focus on sustainable luxury and technological prowess.

Bentley also confirmed that it would unveil the new Supersports model on November 13, 100 years after the introduction of the first “Super Sports” model.
The nameplate will return for only the fourth time, with Bentley promising it to be the “lightest, most driver-focused and first rear-wheel drive Continental GT ever.
The event will take place in New York City on November 14, with enthusiasts able to see the first glimpse of the limited production Supersports.
