King and Queen will be joined by senior members of the Royal Family at this year’s Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall.

The annual event pays tribute to British and Commonwealth military personnel who have served their countries.

The 2025 festival marks significant milestones, including eight decades since the Second World War concluded.

Organisers will share individual accounts from recent conflicts, with particular attention given to bereaved military children and their resilience.

The ceremony will also recognise a quarter-century since LGBT service members gained the right to serve without concealment in Britain’s military.

The event will acknowledge historical injustices whilst celebrating advances achieved over the past 25 years.

King Charles became the Royal British Legion’s Patron in 2024, continuing the monarchy’s longstanding support for the organisation.

BBC One will televise the festival at 9pm GMT on Saturday 8th November.

The programme will feature accounts from those affected by warfare, bridging historical and contemporary military experiences.

The ceremony continues its tradition of remembering the bravery and losses of service personnel throughout Britain and the Commonwealth’s military history.

It comes as Kensington Palace announced that the Princess of Wales will attend the National Memorial Arboretum’s Armistice Day commemoration, participating in the nation’s Service of Remembrance at the Armed Forces Memorial on November 11th.

Next Tuesday at 11am, the royal will observe the traditional two-minute silence alongside other attendees.

Following this solemn moment, she will place a wreath honouring those who gave their lives in military service and recognising all who have served in Britain’s Armed Forces.

The engagement ensures there will be a royal presence at the memorial site’s annual commemoration of the armistice that ended the First World War.

The commemoration will include a specially written poem by the Arboretum’s resident poet, Arji Manuelpillai.

The poet’s work explores the personal relationships and shared experiences that develop through military service, subjects that resonate deeply with the Princess of Wales.

After the service concludes, the Princess of Wales will see the recently inscribed names on the Armed Forces Memorial.

She will then speak with veterans who attended the commemoration.
