Mohanad Abdullaahi Goobe had “an uncanny ability to make you laugh”, his family said

Two boys, aged 14 and 15, have been charged with murder following the death of a teenager last month in Manchester.

Mohanad Abdullaahi Goobe, 15, was fatally stabbed on Moston Street in Moss Side on 15 September.

The charged pair will appear at Manchester City and Salford Youth Court.

Another 15-year-old boy has been previously charged with Mohanad’s murder.

The stabbing occured in Monton Street in Moss Side after reports of a disturbance involving a large group of people

In a tribute, Mohanad’s family said: “It is difficult to comprehend that seeing your son head off for school in the morning would be the last time that we would see that handsome face”.

They added he had “an uncanny ability to make you laugh, making it sometimes difficult to be serious with him”.

“Mohanad had many friends, he was loyal and often played the class clown, simply to see them laugh.”

Greater Manchester Police previously said it had referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct watchdog because it responded to a “potentially linked” disturbance around half an hour before the stabbing.
