Princess Kate turns to jewellery to bring “sparkle” to her neutral wardrobe, a jewellery expert has claimed.
An example of this was when the Princess of Wales combined precision and polish during her visit to RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire last week.
James Harris, Regional Sales Manager at Austen & Blake, told GB News that her sapphire accessories added depth and meaning to her look.
He said: “The Princess’s earrings feature blue sapphires surrounded by a halo of smaller diamonds, ensuring sparkle from every angle.
“They elevated her grey suit, adding subtle colour to her monochrome ensemble.”
The Princess wore a Bella Freud Prince of Wales check suit, consisting of the brand’s “Earl” blazer and “School Boy” trousers, with a grey Alexander McQueen ribbed-knit top.
The blazer contains the following description: “The Earl Jacket is a lighter take on the widely beloved Saint James style.
“Featuring a slim cut with a deep break at the front, this jacket features a narrow lapel and flat pockets on the side for subtle elegance. Pair with the School Boy Trouser for an evergreen look that will carry you from occasion to occasion.”

Meanwhile, the trousers are described as “mid-rise, with a straight leg”.
The description continues: “Offered in Prince of Wales Check, the trousers are reminiscent of a schoolboy’s dress code.”
Kate completed the outfit with Gianvito Rossi navy suede heels, a Cartier Ballon Bleu watch, and the Royal Air Force wings brooch.
The brooch acknowledged Kate’s honorary role as Royal Honorary Air Commodore.

Mr Harris suggested that the colour palette and gemstone choice brought both meaning and modernity to Kate’s outfit.
He explained: “Blue sapphires are said to symbolise wisdom, loyalty and truth. They make a look meaningful as well as beautiful.”
The choice of navy accessories, including her £650 Gianvito Rossi shoes, tied the look together.
Mr Harris observed: “She ensured the hue was effortlessly incorporated into her outfit.”

At the airbase, the Princess met Royal Air Force personnel, toured aircraft hangars and spoke with engineers about maintenance and flight operations.
The engagement was her first visit to Coningsby since succeeding Prince William as Royal Honorary Air Commodore in 2023.
By pairing a sharp checked suit with sapphires, the Princess showed how jewellery can help modernise a formal look.
