Zarah Sultana has compared her rift with Jeremy Corbyn to the famous fall-out between Noel and Liam Gallagher as she declares the “show is now back on the road” for the left-wing Your Party.

The Coventry South MP, who had the whip suspended by the Labour Party last year, became embroiled in public row with Mr Corbyn after she accused him of turning the new left-wing party into a “sexist boys club”.

Ms Sultana attempted to put the spat to bed on Friday as she affirmed that Your Party was still a potential home for disgruntled Labour supporters and compared the situation to the split and subsequent reunion of Oasis.

Addressing The World Transformed conference in Manchester, the 31-year-old MP said: “Obviously you’ve all seen what’s happened over the past few weeks but I’m here to tell you the show is back on the road.

“I know that I’m in Manchester so I have to reference Liam and Noel Gallagher.

“If they can do it, of course me and Jeremy can.”

The row erupted last month after Ms Sultana launched a website without Mr Corbyn’s approval, seeking to raise membership fees from tens of thousands of Your Party supporters.

However, the former Labour leader quickly sent an “urgent message” telling supporters to ignore the email, which had been signed by all Independent Alliance MPs except Ms Sultana.

The Islington North MP told backers to cancel any direct debits that had been set up, adding that “legal advice” was being sought.

Ms Sultana later claimed she was “effectively frozen out” of all of the left-wing party’s social media accounts following the incident.

The Coventry South MP said: ““I have been subjected to what can only be described as a sexist boys’ club.”

She then accused Mr Corbyn, alongside Ayoub Khan, Adnan Hussain, Iqbal Mohamed and Shockat Adam, of side-lining women from the party’s inner circle.

After the dust appeared to settle, Mr Corbyn apologised to Your Party supporters for the public feud between the two founders.

He said: “We’ve had some fraught days in the last week, as you will no doubt be very aware.

YOUR PARTY – READ THE LATEST HEADLINES:

“And to be honest, we haven’t covered ourselves in glory. But what is most important is this: we all agree about the plans for the conference and the road map to get to it.”

The Islington North MP also told supporters he was “sorry for the confusion in getting to this point”.

At Friday’s World Transformed political conference, Ms Sultana also told left-wing supports to “fight the fascists in the streets” if required.

She added that the British public should feel “f***ing furious” over the cost-of-living crisis.

Ms Sultana also claimed that “the far-right” will exploit the “vacuum created by Labour’s capitulation and a broken political system”.

She added: “And let’s be clear, you do not fight fascism by ignoring it – or, if you’re the Labour Party, copying it – you stop it by fighting it at the ballot box and, when necessary, you fight the fascists in the streets.”
