Country music icon Dolly Parton has revealed that she must delay her planned Las Vegas performances from December 2025 to September 2026 whilst she undergoes medical procedures for ongoing health issues.

The 79-year-old performer shared the news through Instagram, explaining that physicians have advised her to have several procedures to address health concerns she has been experiencing.

The postponement affects six concerts that were scheduled to run from December 4-13 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, marking what would have been her first extended Las Vegas engagement in 32 years.

In her statement, Ms Parton quipped that her doctors had told her “it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!”

She emphasised that the postponement would allow her to deliver the performance her audience deserves, stating: “You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.”

The singer reassured concerned fans about her future in entertainment, declaring: “Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet.”

She added: “But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.”

The rescheduled performances will now take place on September 17, 19, 20, 23, 25, and 26, 2026, with existing tickets remaining valid for the new dates.

Following the announcement on social media, Ms Parton was inundated with support from her fans and a number of famous faces.

BBC presenter Gaby Roslin was one of the first to comment on the Instagram announcement: “Sending so much healing energy and love!”

“We can wait till you’re ready queen,” model Tess Holliday added while film director Ava DuVernay weighed in: “Heal strong, Queen Dolly!”

And singer Brandi Carlile shared a series of love heart emojis with the siple caption: “Beyond reproach.” (sic)

The limited series of gigs, titled Dolly: Live in Las Vegas, was announced in June and would have coincided with the National Finals Rodeo period, traditionally popular for country music performances in the city.

According to promotional materials, the production was planned as a career-spanning showcase featuring seven decades of her most beloved songs, including 9 to 5, Jolene, I Will Always Love You, and Coat of Many Colors.

The announcement follows recent health setbacks, including a kidney stone that developed into an infection, forcing her to miss a Dollywood event earlier this month.

In a video message at that time, she explained that her doctor had advised against travelling from Nashville to Tennessee, saying she needed “a few days to get better.”

Despite the medical challenges, Ms Parton confirmed she would continue working on various projects from her Nashville base whilst preparing to return to live performance.

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee concluded her message by thanking fans for their understanding, signing off with “I love you.”
