Three tractor trailers with messages of support for British farmers will arrive in Liverpool tomorrow for a rally outside the Labour Party Conference.

The ‘Trailers of Truth’ are the idea of campaigners Farmers to Action and have been touring the UK since the start of September.

The group says the trailers shine a light on issues like inheritance tax reform, rural living standards and concerns over food security.

Along the way, they’ve been inviting the public to join in and share the messages they want taken to the Government.

On the awning bolted to one of the trailers, one message reads: “My life has been sacrificed on the altar of farming”. Another simply says: “Save British family farms.”

Huw Roberts has been part of the team organising the trailer tour across Wales.

He told GB News: “Agriculture is on its knees at the moment, especially with this inheritance tax that’s coming in. It’s going to kill more and more and more family farms.

“The MPs don’t seem to be bothered, for what reason, I don’t know. I don’t know where they think their food is going to come.

“At the end of the day, that’s what we produce. Food for the whole nation.”

The Roberts family have been farming in Wrexham for 100 years, and he worries he’ll be the last generation.

He said: “It frightens the death out of me. My five-year-old said to me going to beddthe other night, ‘Dad, will I be able to farm after you?’.

“I couldn’t answer him, and that breaks my heart. It’s just an awful thing to think of.”

The Government says it has a “steadfast” commitment to farmers, but believes “vital” inheritance tax reforms will only affect 500 farms a year.

Others, including the National Farmers Union, estimate up to 70,000 farms in total could be affected by the changes.

At its last stop before the mass rally at the Labour conference, two of the three ‘Trailers of Truth’ spent the day at alive stock market in Ruthin, Wales.

One of those signing his message of support on the side was Simon Taylor, who’s been farming for almost half a century and planned to pass everything on to his sons.

Simon Taylor questioned: ‘Where’s the food on your table coming from?’

He told GB News: “Where’s the next meal coming from? Farmers will just pack in, they’ll get to a certain age and they’ll just say, ‘that’s it’.

“Our children can’t farm; we’re no longer prepared to put up with it. Who is going to farm?
