Prince Harry and Prince William have been tipped to reunite with a “wonderful embrace” in the “not-too-distant future” by a close friend of the Duke of Sussex.

The feuding brothers have not been on speaking terms since Harry stepped down from his role as a working royal and relocated to the US in 2020.

Since then, the pair are only known to have spoken when they met during the funeral of Queen Elizabeth in 2022.

When Harry travelled to the UK earlier this month, culminating in his first meeting with King Charles in 19 months, William was elsewhere.

The Prince of Wales busied himself with engagements while his younger brother was a short distance away, fuelling speculation that their feud was still ongoing.

Harry would later defend the claims made in his tell-all memoir Spare.

William was known to have been deeply offended by the claims made by his brother in the book.

However, Alex Rayner, a close friend of the Duke of Sussex, was convinced there was hope in the future of a reconciliation between the pair.

“As soon as the opportunity presents itself, we’ll see a wonderful embrace between the two brothers. Absolutely,” he said.

The friend predicted the feuding brothers could meet ‘if not by the end of the year, then next’

Mr Rayner accompanied the Duke of Sussex on his 2012 charity excursion to the North Pole and maintains regular contact with him regular contact with him.

Regarding a timeframe on the hypothetical reunion of Harry and Willaim, Mr Rayner confidently stated: “Certainly, if not by the end of the year, then next.”

“They’ll hug in the not-too-distant future,” he assured while speaking with the Daily Mail.

When it came to the rift between Harry and King Charles, the former celebrity PR manager believed reconciliation was similarly inevitable.

“A rift between father and son is never that big,” Mr Rayner declared.

He added: “A father’s love for his son is pretty indestructible.”

On September 10, Harry joined the King for “a private tea” at Windsor Castle for just under an hour.

The meeting is the first time they had met face-to-face since February 2024, just after Buckingham Palace confirmed the King was receiving cancer treatment.

Harry and William were apart during the duke’s trip to the UK, even as he met the king for the first time in 19 months

Speaking to the Guardian while in Ukraine after the reunion, Harry said: “The focus really has to be on my dad.”

While this suggested the father and son were well on their way to reconciliation, Prince William was not mentioned once by the duke in his candid discussion.

Regarding his memoir that wounded the Prince of Wales, Harry said: “It was a difficult message, but I did it in the best way possible.

“My conscience is clear,” he added.
