Sometimes it can be difficult to juggle everyday commitments while making sure your body is getting the daily activity it needs to stay fit and healthy.

And, often, going to the gym can take up a large portion of your time, which is why many resort to cutting exercise out of their routine altogether.

But spending hours at the gym is not always necessary. Thankfully, plenty of fitness lovers and influencers have flocked to TikTok to share the easy moves that you can easily incorporate into your daily life at home.

One fitness guru, who is known by @fabfit50plus online, has shared the top three exercises to banish belly fat that can be fitted into your life – no equipment necessary.

The trio of exercises are easy to do at home

Promising that followers would “see the difference in no time”, the TikToker advocated pairing the exercises alongside a healthy diet to reap the full benefits.

Demonstrating the workout on the video-sharing platform, she instructed: “Do these three moves everyday to lose belly fat.”

First up, the enthusiast practised mountain climbers, an exercise which works the abdominals, lower back, glutes and hamstrings.

LATEST WORKOUT TIPS

Raving about the ease of the workout, she said: “You could do them standing, you could do them on the floor, or at your kitchen sink!”

The second exercise involves high knee twists, which entails raising your knee as high as possible, while twisting your body holding your arms horizontally.

The move can assist those keen on shedding pounds due to the movement being inclined to burn calories and improve heart health.

The third and final exercise are high knees, using straight arms to touch them after each extension. The guru recommended completing each move for 30 seconds three times.

Spot reduction is a myth, experts say

While the influencer said that these exercises help reduce fat around the middle, experts have clarified that individuals cannot target particular fat stores with specific workouts, which is known as “spot reduction” in the fitness world.

To lose weight effectively, it’s best to increase your activity levels, which, in turn, assists a calorie deficit by burning more calories, thereby raising your metabolism.

The medical experts at John Hopkins said: “It’s impossible to target belly fat specifically when you diet.

“But losing weight overall will help shrink your waistline; more importantly, it will help reduce the dangerous layer of visceral fat, a type of fat within the abdominal cavity that you can’t see but that heightens health risks.”
