Wynne Evans has released a furious statement as he calls for BBC boss Tim Davie to be axed.
The opera singer starred in last year’s Strictly Come Dancing before becoming embroiled in various scandals, and was ultimately axed from his BBC Radio Wales show.
The radio host, 53, has since shared damning statements against the broadcaster, and took to social media again on Thursday to share a lengthy post criticising the BBC and requesting director general Davie to resign.
The post simply read: “Wynne Evans Show: It’s time for an independent enquiry and the resignation of the director general.”
In the caption, Go Compare advert star Evans unleashed a damning verdict on his experience with the broadcaster.
Marking the almost-12 months since his Strictly experience, he penned: “One year on, I wish to repeat my full and sincere apology to anyone who may have felt uncomfortable with my humour.
“But what has unfolded since has revealed a problem far bigger than any one individual — a problem at the very heart of the BBC. I am therefore calling for an independent investigation into the organisation.
“Over the past twelve months, it has become clear to me that under the leadership of Director‑General Tim Davie and Chairman Samir Shah, the BBC has fostered a culture where the protection of its own image and senior management takes precedence over fairness, accountability, and duty of care.
“The BBC has chosen to protect itself at all costs, even when that means leaving individuals isolated, discredited, and unsupported.
“This has created a David‑and‑Goliath situation in which ordinary people are left powerless against a system deliberately structured to silence them.”
The statement continued: “The BBC’s HR department, in particular, has shown itself to be unfit for purpose.
“Information has been leaked to the press to shield the organisation and its leadership.
“Processes have been deliberately drawn out for months on end, not to seek justice or truth, but to suppress voices and to gag individuals while proceedings remain conveniently ‘under review.’
“Perhaps most concerning is the BBC’s neglect of its duty of care. Time and again, individuals experiencing reputational crises and mental health struggles have been left to cope alone.
“We must remember: the BBC is not a commercial company accountable to shareholders.
“It is our national public service broadcaster, funded by the people. That makes its failures all the more indefensible.
“The public has a right to expect the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and compassion from the BBC — This is a culture of cover‑up, not accountability.”
Concluding the post, Evans issued a plea, writing: “The time has now come for Lisa Nandy our Culture Secretary to show courage and hold an independent inquiry into the BBC.
“I have addressed questions on this matter live at 12pm today on The Wynne Evans Show.”
At the end of May, the singer shared on social media: “It breaks my heart to say the BBC has decided not to renew my contract so I won’t be returning to my radio show. I’m gutted.”
The broadcaster’s decision followed a four-month investigation into his controversial “spit roast” comment, which was made during the Strictly’s media photocall during the tour in January.

Evans has defended his controversial comment, which was thought to have been aimed at Janette Manrara.
He denied it carried sexual connotations and insisting it referenced fellow Strictly contestant Jamie Borthwick’s physical abilities.
“‘Spit-roast boy’ was a nickname we all gave Jamie Borthwick because he could contort his legs over his head like a spit-roast chicken,” Evans explained to The Sun.
During his stint on the show last year, the father-of-two was caught in another controversy when viewers spotted his dance partner Katya Jones forcibly removing his hand as it strayed across her waist.
