Carole Malone has launched a scathing attack on Labour’s controversial comparison between Nigel Farage and Jimmy Savile, denouncing it as an “unevidenced slur”.

The controversy erupted after Science Secretary Peter Kyle suggested earlier this week that Farage was “on the side” of child predators like Savile, linking the Reform UK leader’s pledge to repeal the Online Safety Act to supporting paedophiles.

Government insiders have reportedly revealed that Downing Street coordinated the controversial attack linking Farage to the disgraced paedophile.

Several sources confirmed that Kyle consulted with No10 prior to his Sky News appearance on Tuesday, where he made the statements.

Carole Malone unleashed a furious rant

Speaking on GB News, political commentator Jonathan Lis said: “If it came from No10, I think it was a very foolish tactic.

“I understand why they might have done it, they wanted a confected row, the classic ‘dead cat’ that political journalists love to talk about.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

“The idea being that people would focus on the Jimmy Savile row, instead of the rights and wrongs of the Online Safety Act, which, by the way, I think is bad legislation. It’s not a left-versus-right issue, it’s just flawed for a number of reasons.

Carole Malone fumed: “Bottom line: it was an unevidenced slur against Nigel Farage. And frankly, I hope he does sue over it. But Starmer and his people have kicked themselves in the guts with this.”

GB News host Miriam Cates later added: “There was a legitimate political point to be made, Farage said he’d repeal the Online Safety Act without offering any real plan to protect children. That was a valid line of attack.

“But the moment they brought up Jimmy Savile, they blew it. It was a stupid political play. Now they look ridiculous, and the story’s moved on.”

Carole added: “And it shows how much Farage is living in Starmer’s head. He’s terrified of him.

“And the striking thing? The Tories are nowhere in this row. They’ve vanished completely, washed out of the Tardis.”

Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander reinforced the attack on Wednesday morning, echoing Kyle’s allegations during another Sky News appearance.

Alexander stated that Farage was effectively siding with paedophiles by opposing the Online Safety Act, claiming he wanted “a free-for-all on the internet.”

She defended Kyle’s controversial remarks, insisting they were justified given Farage’s stance on internet regulation.

The coordinated nature of the attack became evident as multiple cabinet ministers repeated similar talking points across media appearances.

A Labour source defended the strategy, describing child protection online as “a no-brainer” and expressing willingness to engage in this particular battle.
