A university football coach has launched a heartfelt social media campaign to locate his daughter, who remains among 10 campers still missing following catastrophic flooding in Texas that has claimed at least 80 lives.
Wade Lytal, offensive coordinator at Division III Trinity University in San Antonio, took to social media platform X with an emotional plea.
“Asking for all prayers for a miracle for my baby girl Kellyanne,” he wrote.
The coach shared a video of Kellyanne performing a solo at her primary school’s Christmas recital. “I’ll never forget when she told me she had a lead solo in the Christmas Pageant,” Wade Lytal posted. “She is absolutely fearless.”
Trinity University confirmed in a statement that Kellyanne Lytal remains unaccounted for after the devastating flooding along the Guadalupe River.
The young girl vanished from Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp for girls that bore the brunt of the weekend’s devastating floods. Floodwaters obliterated the camp’s cabin and swept numerous children and counsellors away.

Five girls from the camp are confirmed dead, along with the facility’s owner, Dick Eastland. The catastrophe struck Central Texas with particular severity over the weekend.
Kellyanne is amongst at least 10 campers who remain unaccounted for following the disaster. Trinity University noted that marketing student Aidan Heartfield also remains missing.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and loved ones as search and rescue efforts continue. We will do all we can to support them during this incredibly difficult time,” the university stated.
A massive search operation is underway, with 400 first responders from 20 different municipal, state and national agencies conducting rescue missions.

Kerr County bore the worst of the flooding’s impact, with at least 68 fatalities amongst the minimum 80 deaths across the region.
The scale of the disaster has prompted an unprecedented multi-agency response.
Search and rescue teams continue combing the area where Camp Mystic stood before the floodwaters struck.
The operation represents one of the largest emergency responses in recent Texas history, with personnel working round the clock to locate the missing children and counsellor.

President Donald Trump announced he would likely visit Texas on Friday, telling reporters in Morristown, New Jersey that he had been in close contact with Governor Abbott.
“We’re working very close with representatives from Texas,” Trump said.
“And it’s a horrible thing that took place. Absolutely horrible. So we say, God bless all of the people that have gone through so much, and God bless the state of Texas. This incredible place,” he continued.

Trump described the event as a “100 year catastrophe,” adding that “this was a thing that happened in seconds. Nobody expected it.”
Texas Governor Greg Abbott declared Sunday a day of prayer across the state in response to the floods.
The Department of Homeland Security defended weather forecasting efforts, stating that “The National Weather Service executed timely, precise forecasting and warnings, despite unprecedented rainfall overwhelming the region.”
