A Russian MMA fighter has sparked outrage after sharing footage of herself giving a vape to a caged orangutan.
Anastasia Luchkina, 24, shared the video on social media, drawing fierce criticism from MMA fans who branded her actions “abuse” and “disgusting behaviour”.
It was recorded during the fighter’s visit to Taigan Park Zoo in Crimea and has led to calls for her to be banned from competing.
In response to the footage, members of the public on social media erupted at the fighter, with many condemning the fighter’s treatment of the animal and demanding consequences for her actions.

Video footage shows Luchkina taking a drag from the vape before passing it through a wire fence to the orangutan.
The orangutan can be seen placing its mouth on the device before backing away and exhaling a visible cloud of vapour.
The 24-year-old fighter continued offering the vape to the orangutan multiple times throughout the recording.
MMA fans erupted over the footage, with one commenting: “That’s abuse.”

Another wrote: “Idiot of the idiots,” whilst a third asked: “What is wrong with people?”
One fan demanded stronger action, stating: “Just disgusting behaviour and she should not be allowed to fight again.”
Others simply urged: “Leave the animal alone!”
The backlash has extended beyond social media, with reports suggesting Luchkina could face financial penalties and a ban from the zoo.

The caged animal was offered the vape multiple times in the video XAccording to reports, the orangutan is said to be unharmed following the incident.
The controversy comes just weeks after Luchkina’s professional fighting debut, where she suffered a unanimous decision defeat to Indian fighter Vinaskshi.
The fight took place at the King of the Himalayan Ring event in Himachal Pradesh last month.
Zoo officials have yet to comment publicly on the incident.
