British sovereingty: New campaign launched to ‘defend British sovereignty’ following Labour concessions

Britain’s sovereignty is under threat, several campaign groups have said, as they have banded together to defend the UK.

A new campaign, “Stand for Our Sovereignty,” is pushing back against what its organisers call the constant erosion of British self-rule, pointing to Labour’s foreign policies, legal concessions, and globalist pressures as key threats to the UK’s independence.

The campaign is supported by seven organisations, including BrexitFacts4EU, The UK Fisheries Campaign, The European Foundation, CIDUK, Conservative Post, GB-PAC and The Global Discussion Forum.

The coalition has issued a rallying cry to the British public to join the fight and stand up for the principles of national identity.

It comes as the UK Government signed a £101million-a-year deal to transfer control of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius, a 12-year fishing rights agreement with the EU granting counties access to British waters after Brexit, and a deal with the EU over Gibraltar that permits Spanish military personnel on Ministry of Defence land, to decide who has access to British territory.

Chairman of Facts4EU, Leigh Evans, whose group is driving the new campaign alongside the other proud patriots, said: “We suspected this campaign would strike a chord, but didn’t expect such a strong reaction.

“From the messages we’ve received just hours after launch, it’s clear many agree enough is enough.

“This has happened incredibly fast.

“Within 48 hours of the Gibraltar surrender, we had politicians and groups all in total agreement, and we launched at about 7.30am on Friday.”

Evans added: “In 10 years, I’ve never known a campaign where other organisations instantly agreed to support it.

“My experience has been it usually takes weeks to agree such things.

“The only reason we don’t have more organisations signed up yet is that I simply haven’t had time to call them, I believe. I’m going to try to put that right this weekend.”

The campaigners also raise several other key concerns, including the influence of foreign courts on the EU, WHO pandemic plans, the presence of foreign inspectors on UK soil (including Gibraltar), fishing rights, tax reforms, and billions of pounds in UK taxpayer money being given to foreign Governments.

The group also stress on their website that the campaign is not about forming a new political party, but instead about mobilising the public, no matter their affiliation, to protect Britain’s interests.

Reacting to the launch of the new campaign, former Conservative MP Sir John Redwood KC, said: “We need to defend our UK sovereignty.

“We believe in self-government and self-determination. We need to help defend the great democratic values of freedom, free speech and the power of the ballot box.”

“Chagosians do not want the islands surrendered to Mauritius. Gibraltarians twice voted overwhelmingly to remain British.

“The UK and our allies need to take care of our important bases where UK ownership is the best protection for Diego Garcia and Gibraltar.”

Redwood fumed: “The Government’s bad deal for Chagos and threatened surrender in the EU reset means we need a strong movement to protect our sovereignty.

“We should all be proud of our country and believe it is best if we govern ourselves.”

Claire Bullivant, CEO, Great British PAC also told GB News: “’Stand Up for Our Sovereignty’ isn’t just a slogan – it’s a national call to action.

“It’s time to stand up for our country, our democracy, and the sovereign future the British people overwhelmingly voted for. People power is key.”

Bullivant added: “By standing together now, we can protect Britain not just for the next four years but ensure that the Government elected in 2029 is a truly patriotic one. One that puts sovereignty, pride, and national interest at its very heart.”

“The campaign is actively seeking donations to support its stand for British sovereignty, with the message: ‘If you believe in this cause and can help, now’s the moment—your support has never gone further.”

The group say they need financial support to enable them to have the necessary resources to keep the momentum going, in what campaigners argue is a fight like no other to defend Britain’s sovereignty.
