Meghan Markle’s makeup artist has executed a U-turn after making a vow of secrecy.
After nearly seven years of secrecy, Meghan’s wedding makeup artist, Daniel Martin, has finally revealed the products he used to create her royal wedding look.
Four years ago, Martin insisted that he would never reveal the exact products he used in order to keep the “mystery” surrounding the royal wedding.
In the 2021 interview, Martin said: “I’ve never spoken publicly about what it is I used on her [for the wedding]. That’s always going to be the mystery.”

However, Martin appeared on the Breaking Beauty podcast this month, where he disclosed that the Duchess of Sussex’s wedding day glow was primarily achieved using Dior Backstage products and Tatcha skincare.
“This is the first time I’ve ever said this,” Martin admitted during the podcast appearance.
“I was with Dior then, so a lot of the Backstage had just launched,” he explained on the podcast.
The timing is notable as the Dior Backstage line launched in June 2018, shortly after Meghan married Prince Harry on May 19 that same year.
Martin currently serves as global director of artistry at Tatcha, whose founder, Vicky Tsai, is also a friend of Meghan’s.
“Her whole face was pretty much Dior Backstage,” Martin revealed on the podcast. He also disclosed that he used a MAC lip liner on the Duchess’s lips.
Martin mentioned his own contribution to Meghan’s makeup collection, saying: “I created the lip tint for Tatcha. Plum Blossom is a great one.”
The revelation comes after years of speculation about the products used to create Meghan’s natural yet radiant wedding day look that captivated global audiences in 2018.

Martin also reflected on his enduring association with the Duchess.
“Meghan and I, we talk about this all the time. I’m always going to be Meghan Markle’s makeup artist for the rest of my life,” he shared.
“Which is totally fine because we’re friends. I think if we didn’t have a personal connection, it would definitely be different.”
