The nation’s luxury car hotspots have been revealed – and it’s not just affluent parts of the capital where the super-rich are splashing out on flash motors.
Estate agent Savills has analysed new car sales data to discover which locations have registered the most vehicles from eight high-end auto brands over the last five years.
These include Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maclaren, Maserati, Porsche and Rolls-Royce.
Unsurprisingly, areas with the highest average property prices dominate the list of places with the highest volumes of new super-luxe motors.
It founds that there were 137 luxury car purchases per 1,000 housing transactions in postcodes where the average house price exceeded £1million, compared to just 19 per 1,000 housing transactions across England and Wales as a whole.
This means around one in 14 (7.3 per cent) super-luxe registrations are in the top 1 per cent of priciest postcodes, with half of registrations located across 23 per cent of the country where average house prices exceed £400,000.
However, London doesn’t swamp the full list of 25 supercar hotspots, as revealed in our map infographic below.

The borough of Kensington and Chelsea topped the leader board with 182 super luxury car registrations per 1,000 housing transactions between 2019 and 2023.
The wealthy London borough also has the highest average house price, coming in at an eye-watering £2.1million, according to Land Registry figures.
Westminster was a close second with 159 high-end motor purchases per 1,000 housing transactions in the last five years.
It was also the second highest region for house prices at an average of £1.7m.
Savills said it is residents in Westminster who are most likely to own a ‘British Elegance’ car made by Aston Martin, Bentley or Rolls-Royce.

However, beyond central London, the most affluent parts of the commuter zone are home to the highest concentration of super-luxe cars where ownership is more practical for wealthier households.
In fact, of the 25 supercar hotspots across Britain, there are only seven London boroughs.
Instead, it is leafy Surrey, Hertfordshire and Essex that are among the most common postcodes where drivers are spending big of flashy cars despite average house prices being lower than those in the capital.
Elmbridge in Surrey, which is home to towns and villages including Esher, Cobham, Walton-on-Thames, Weybridge and Molesey – all of which are especially popular with footballers – has the highest concentration of super-luxe cars outside of London with 93 per 1,000 housing transactions and an average property price of £860,900 – almost a third of the cost in Kensington and Chelsea.
Windsor and Maidenhead in Berkshire was fourth on the list with 84 luxury motor purchases per 1,000 property transactions and an average house price of £657,509.
This was ahead of the London Borough of Camden in fifth, which had 77 high-end car sales per 1,000 house transactions in the last five year, though a much higher average property value of £1.3m.
Epping Forest, which borders London and Essex, has the lowest house price in the top ten at a shade under £580k.

Savills says this indicates that residents here are more likely to prioritise a fast car over an expensive house.
Ribble Valley, the borough of Lancashire that also includes the town of Longridge and numerous villages and surrounding rural areas, is the supercar hotspot with the lowest average property price in the top 25.
It ranked 22nd overall with 47 super-luxe vehicle registrations per 1,000 house transactions in the last five years.
Yet it has an average property cost of just £255,808, which is eight times less than Kensington and Chelsea in top spot.
‘The home you own and the car you drive have long been seen as the ultimate status symbols among the wealthiest in society and those aspiring to join that group,’ says Lucian Cook, head of residential research at Savills.
‘On that basis, we weren’t surprised to find high concentrations of super-luxury car registrations in areas with the highest house prices.’
However, the estate agent said the correlation between high-value property and luxury car purchases wasn’t as strong as it had originally expected to see.
Nick Maud, director of research at Savills who co-authored the study, said this is ‘partly because there is a certain type of petrolhead who will always put a car over a house’.

Porsche sold 20,000 cars in the UK in 2024 alone – and 91,095 over the last five years
A recent Savills client poll found that Porsche was the most desired car brand for those aged under 50. However, older homeowners were more likely to favour Aston Martin (pictured)
Society of Motor Manufacturer and Trader (SMMT) figures show that of the eight luxury brands used for the analysis, Porsche is by far the one that’s overwhelmingly favoured by Britons.
Some 20,000 Porsches were registered in the UK in 2024 alone and 91,095 over the last five years.
It correlates with results from a recent Savills client survey which found that Porsche was the most desired car brand for those aged under 50.
However, older homeowners were more likely to favour Aston Martin, it revealed.
