Angelina Jolie believes she is getting more quality work with age.
The actress, 49, who plays opera singer Maria Callas in her new film Maria, revealed that unlike the late singer, she doesn’t believe her power is diminishing with age.
‘I’ve got better work as I’ve got older,’ the mom-of-six told the The Sunday Times in a new interview.
‘I don’t think about it in terms of roles offered but in terms of life experience you contribute,’ Jolie — who also gushed about her kids in the interview — said.
She added, ‘It’s easier for actors than singers or dancers because your body doesn’t change.’
While disagreeing with Callas’s fear of ageing, Jolie admired her ‘commitment’ to work.

‘I’m a hard worker,’ she shared. ‘And a deeply feeling person. Maria is vulnerable because she feels and isn’t sometimes able to protect herself from the loneliness or emotional pain. Because it’s part of her life and work to be extremely human and live that way.’
‘You live through your communication with the audience. For Maria and for me that has always been extremely important.’
Early in her career, Jolie was a dedicated method actress.
During the filming of Gia (1998), she immersed herself so deeply in the role of a drug-addicted supermodel that she told her then-husband, Jonny Lee Miller, she wouldn’t be able to call him from set.
This intense commitment led her to briefly retire from acting, as she felt she had ‘nothing else to give.’
She adds, ‘As a young actor you say yes to everything. Can you ride horses? Can you speak this language? Then you have to learn.’
Jolie’s career includes an Oscar win for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the 1999 film ‘Girl, Interrupted.’
She became an international star with her portrayal of Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider film series, in 2001 and 2003.
Some of her other notable films include ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith,’ ‘Wanted,’ ‘Salt,’ and ‘Maleficent.’

Elsewhere in the interview she shared that, unlike Callas, she is not a lonely person, thanks to her large family.
‘I don’t feel that because I have family. Maria didn’t have a family, so her work was everything. My work is not everything. Being a parent is everything.’

A source recently told People that his kids haven’t spent ‘extensive time’ with the actor’s own parents for over five years.
The insider continued that his six children only have ‘limited’ contact with Brad’s side of the family – but a separate source close to Jolie shared a differing viewpoint on the situation.
‘Angelina has not blocked any communications or relationships; rather she encourages them to be in touch with their grandparents.’
‘The kids send cards and gifts to their grandparents every year for their birthdays and Christmas,’ the insider explained to the outlet.
