Ruth Langsford revealed she is jetting off to Australia after it was announced she is set to appear on the I’m A Celeb spin-off show Unpacked.
The Loose Women host, 64, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share that she was busy packing her case before flying to Oz.
A source revealed to The Sun earlier this month that the opportunity to join the spin-off show had been a welcome distraction for Ruth during a challenging year.
They said: ‘It’s been a tough year for Ruth and she’s been putting her best foot forward, she’s thrilled to have been asked to appear on this the spin off show and fly to Australia ahead of Christmas.
The insider added that Ruth is eager to support Jane, saying: ‘She’s rooting for Jane and can’t wait to give her opinion on how she is getting on.

‘The production team are particularly excited they have landed Ruth to join them as they think she’ll be amazing and give the new format a boost.’
Ruth’s involvement is expected to add star power to the revamped spin-off as she joins the production in Australia ahead of the festive season.
The update came after Ruth appeared to take a subtle dig at her ex Eamonn Holmes on social media on Sunday.
She announced her split from the broadcaster, also 64, in June after 14 years of marriage and 27 years together.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Ruth shared a snap of her lunch which consisted of tomatoes, avocados, and olives.
She also had a cup of tea in a mug stamped with the word ‘Happy!’
The TV presenter captioned the snap: ‘Yum,’ with the song Brunch time by Hello EMC played over the post.
Last Friday, Ruth sat down in the hairdressers chair to undergo a glamorous makeover.

As she had extensions fitted she explained on Instagram: ‘Apparently there’s been a 60% increase in women seeking help for hair loss….we talked about it on Loose Women on Tuesday and we all had our own stories.’
Ruth continued: ‘My hair got thinner during menopause which is why I started having hair extensions….not for length, but for thickness.
‘I had clip in pieces first, then I progressed to tapes and now I have LOTS of keratin bonds, really small ones so they’re very discreet.
‘Just wanted to show you my natural hair before I get my extensions done again tomorrow.’
Eamonn recently shared his gratitude and opened up on his ‘tough year’ as he attended he attended his first event with his new girlfriend earlier this month.
He has battled many health woes this year and recently revealed he ‘can no longer walk or look after himself.’
After surgery on his back in 2022 for a slipped disc, the GB News host has not been able to walk unaided and often relies on a wheelchair.
Speaking at the event Eamonn admitted he was glad to see the end of 2024, while being supported by his girlfriend.

Speaking to The Sun On Sunday, he said: ‘It’s been a tough year and I’ll be glad to see the back of it.’
He added: ‘But there are lots of things to be grateful for and I hope that my health improves next year.’
Eammon and Katie made their first appearance as a couple at The Irish Post Awards, but the former GMB presenter requested that photographers not take pictures of them together.
An on looker added: ‘Katie certainly seems to be able to put a smile back on Eamonn’s face. They seem genuinely besotted with each other.’
Eamonn and Loose Women star Ruth announced their plans to divorce in June after 14 years of marriage and 27 years together.
Now, Katie, who enjoyed a romantic cruise with the TV star earlier this year, has told friends she is in for ‘the long haul’ with Eamonn.

The TV star has been dating counsellor Katie, 43, since his split from Ruth and had her by his side as he hosted the Irish Post Awards in London
She has been helping Eamonn through the split from Ruth, but her friends say she is at pains to point out that their friendship has only grown close once the marriage was over in May.
In September, the former This Morning presenter emotionally revealed he can no longer look after himself.
In an emotional video, Eamonn admitted his former days of independence have come to an end as he pleaded his followers to adopt a dog as he petted his pooch Bella.
Eamonn, who used to share a rescue dog, Maggie, with Ruth, also revealed that losing his ability to walk also had an impact.
He captioned the clip: ‘Think about giving Bella a home. If I could walk and look after myself she would be mine but instead you could be me. Talk to @TheK9Angels . Absolutely lovely Doggie.’
Eamonn uses a wheelchair due to chronic back pain as well as undergoing painful physio sessions.
Speaking in January he said the ‘harsh reality’ could be that he may never be able to walk unaided again.
In 2016, Eamonn underwent a double-hip replacement operation lasting three-and-a-quarter hours after living with acute pain for many years.
