Sundance Head had shared an eerie post on Facebook only hours before accidentally shooting himself on his Texas ranch on Friday.
The Voice winner, 46, was airlifted to a hospital after paramedics arrived to the scene and were able to get the country singer in stable condition, his agent Trey Newman, told TMZ.
In the latest update, his agent also revealed to People that Head had accidentally himself with one bullet to the stomach around 4p.m. while hunting alone in the woods.
Earlier on Friday, Sundance – whose real name is Jason Head – had uploaded a photo that was taken from inside a tent and wrote, ‘Woke up this morning to the sound of silence.’
A cot could be seen on one side of the spacious tent and was topped with a suitcase and clothes, while a broom and other items were also inside.
Only days earlier, Head had shared his plans to go hunting in a post on Instagram due to having time off.

Following the news of the incident, social media users jumped to the comment section of his earlier Facebook post to share their prayers and well wishes for his recovery.

‘Kids are in with him now. Prayers answered as no internal damage was done by the bullet. Thank you all for the prayers.’
She then went on to explain in detail what had occurred and stated that he had been hunting alone – and was planned to be joined by friends later in the evening.
Misty wrote that ‘no one shot him’ and that the bullet was not from his hunting rifle. ‘He was out of the vehicle reaching in to grab his 22 when he grabbed it the 22 came out of its holster and hit the exterior of the Jeep just right and went off.’
‘Sundance said it happened so fast and he could see the bullet dislodging,’ Misty added, before revealing that he did not call 911.
‘He put his hands in pocket for phone immediately after getting hit but phone wasn’t there just filled with blood…’
‘So he took off down the driveway out to the main road to flag a car down for help. 10 cars later someone turned around to help and called 911.’
His wife explained, ‘Now this is what he has told me … he is heavily medicated at the moment. He’s so lucky and grateful to be alive.’

Misty explained that Sundance will not undergo surgery due to doctors ‘not removing the bullet.’
His wife added that she was ‘sure’ the doctor had given a reason ‘but my head is in a fog right now.’
‘Him being on the bigger side was a good thing. Bullet is in his fatty tissue. Thanks for all the prayers…’
