Former UFC star Tyson Pedro has been pictured saving a man who suffered an awful seizure attack in Sydney just days before the fighter’s debut as a professional boxer.
The 33-year-old was on a training run on Friday ahead of his hotly anticipated bout against Kris Terzievski when he came to the aid of a man who had collapsed and lay convulsing on the footpath in a park in the western Sydney suburb of Penrith.
The man, 46, had fallen off his bike due to the seizure and appears to have hit his head on the concrete as he was bleeding from the face when the fighter attended to him and called Triple Zero.
Paramedics were called and the man reportedly had another seizure while he was being helped to an ambulance.
‘It was terrible to witness,’ Pedro – who is good friends with NRL star Nathan Cleary- said afterwards.
‘I was freaking, though, because that part of the area doesn’t have a lot of mobile service, but thankfully I got through to Triple Zero.

‘It was scary as.’
A friend of Pedro’s heaped praise on the fighter afterwards.
‘Tyson is a hero. The man could have easily died but Tyson stopped his run, stayed calm and made sure the man was looked after,’ the boxer’s mate, who wished to remain anonymous, told News Corp.
‘After calling Triple Zero, he held the man and waited for paramedics to arrive.
‘Tyson then followed the ambulance to hospital and was greeted by the man’s family, who said they will be forever grateful for what he did.’
The friend doctors told Pedro the man will make a full recovery.
According to epilepsy.com, people who suffer repeated seizures are at risk of permanent injury or death.
Pedro’s fight for the WBC Bridgerweight International title – which can be seen on Stan Sport next Wednesday night – was originally scheduled for June 12, but had to be postponed when the former MMA star suffered a gruesome injury in training back in May.

He took to social media to share a gruesome image of the moment his elbow bent the wrong way while he was sparring, writing, ‘Not the way you want to see your arm going.’
On Friday, Terzievski lashed out at his opponent in a fiery spray.
‘You’ve got a UFC fighter that’s coming into the boxing game now. He couldn’t make it in his own sport and he says he’s not doing this for a cash grab,’ said the Victorian, who beat NRL great turned pug Paul Gallen in 2022.
‘I heard his last interview, in his UFC contest, he said he had to rob someone on the way out because he wasn’t making enough money and all of a sudden he’s coming to boxing and he’s the A side, making all the money.
‘It’s all about the Tyson Pedro show.
‘The reality is this … all the pressure’s on me. I’m fighting a 0-0 boxer.
‘The fact that I am being disrespected, I feel like it’s Gallen all over again. Had an NRL bloke who thought he was a boxer, he’s come over to the sport, done a few things and all of a sudden I’m the underdog on the B side.
‘So they’re going to learn for the second time round they’ve picked the wrong guy. They’ve made the mistake again and on November 20 I’m going to show them all.’
