Maura Higgins has made her acting debut as she swaps reality TV for her role in upcoming music-themed comedy The Spin.
Appearing fleetingly in the film’s trailer, the Love Island star, 33, stripped down to a skimpy metallic strapless top as she lay looking pensive on her bed alongside her love interest Game Of Thrones actor Brenock O’Connor.
Directed by award-winning director and screenwriter Michael Head, Maura stars as Rose in the film as she joins Pussycat Doll star Kimberly Wyatt, Hardy Bucks frontman Owen Colgan and Derry Girl’s star Tara Lynne O’Neill.
Premiering on Wednesday at this year’s Belfast Film Festival, the trailer sees Maura’s character and her boyfriend Dermot looking tense as they sit on the bed together.
It comes after Maura confirmed her romantic relationship with Pete Wicks after a PDA-filled display in London last week.

Speaking about her role in the film Maura said: ‘The Irish are known for our storytelling, so it felt fitting that my acting debut would be in an Irish film.
‘Although I am comfortable in front of the camera, it did still feel nerve-wracking at first, but chatting with the brilliant cast and crew helped me relax.
‘Being on set was an incredible experience, and I enjoyed every moment! I play the character of Rose, the girlfriend of Dermot, a down-on-his-luck record store owner.’
Portraying a love story in the film, Maura seems to have also found love in real life after she broke her silence on her relationship with Pete last week.
Appearing on the We Need To Talk podcast with Paul Brunson, the host asked Maura if she and Pete ‘were a thing’.
Maura revealed: ‘We just get on very, very well. I adore him, he’s an amazing person.
‘Do you know what’s so weird? We met very soon after me coming off Love Island and we just instantly clicked.
‘Our humour is the same. It’s like that sick, dark humour. It’s very abusive. We abuse each other. Very nasty, it’s hilarious.’

Meanwhile in recent weeks, Pete has fuelled romance rumours with Strictly Come Dancing partner Jowita Przystał
The pair were first romantically linked in August and shared a tender moment in the corner at the Pride Of Britain after-party last month.
Maura was seen planting a kiss on Pete’s nose before the pair were spotted canoodling at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
The star split from her American stuntman boyfriend Bobby Holland Hanton earlier this year, and she has also previously dated Strictly Come Dancing professional Giovanni Pernice, as well as her Love Island co-stars Christopher Taylor and Curtis Pritchard.
Meanwhile Maura is reportedly set to be heading to the jungle for this year’s series of I’m A Celeb later this month, following the show’s official line up being revealed on Friday.
Yet the star could be set for an awkward run in with her ex’s famous father on the show as she will be joined in the jungle by boxing legend Barry McGuigan, 63, six years after dating his hunky son Shane, 36.
It may come as a shock to Maura, after Barry was unveiled as a last minute replacement for ex footballer Ally McCoist, 62, who dropped out for a third time, according to The Mirror.

The stunner dated boxing coach Shane in 2018, a year before finding fame on Love Island, when she worked as ring girl and he was commentating on a match.
A source told The Sun at the time: ‘Maura has brains and beauty and she quickly caught Shane’s eye’.
‘They went on a few dates and had fun, but Maura lives in Ireland, Shane is running his successful boxing gym in London, and then she was travelling for work so it wasn’t easy to pull off.
‘There were no hard feelings when it ended. It turned out to be short lived and the spark fizzled out.’
